The Costa Blanca is approaching the end of summer 2026 with excellent tourism results, confirming the positive forecasts published at the beginning of the season.
Hotels and tourist accommodation across Alicante Province recorded high occupancy throughout July and August. July ended with an average occupancy rate of 88.6%, 1.6 percentage points higher than in 2025 and the best result recorded since the pandemic.
During the first half of August, hotel occupancy reached 92.1% across the Costa Blanca, while Benidorm achieved 93.1% and the southern Alicante area reached 92.9%. These figures confirm that the region remains one of the preferred destinations for both national and international visitors.
The steady arrival of tourists benefits numerous sectors, including hospitality, retail, leisure, transport and local services. It also supports employment and helps maintain economic activity across many coastal towns.
International connectivity remains one of the Costa Blanca’s greatest strengths. Alicante-Elche Airport provides convenient access for visitors from important markets such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Poland and the Netherlands.
Tourism businesses are now approaching the end of August and the beginning of September with favourable expectations, milder temperatures, a wide variety of activities and the arrival of different visitor profiles help extend the tourist season beyond the main summer months.
The results recorded in 2026 further strengthen the Costa Blanca’s position as one of Spain’s leading Mediterranean destinations. Its climate, beaches, international connections and quality of life attract not only millions of tourists, but also people interested in purchasing a second home or settling permanently in the region.
